Together,
we can reduce construction waste.
It’s time to gather existing local marketplaces in one platform so they’re easier to find and promote. Let’s cut the waste and create a place where architects, builders, and contractors can recycle and re-use materials. Join the discussion to have your say today!
How to get involved
Contribute your ideas so we can create a material re-use solution that works for everyone. The goal is to build one cohesive and collaborative online marketplace.

Who we are
Conversations about reducing construction waste have increased over time, but remain stubbornly less mainstream than they should be. There is some wonderful work happening—but no home to showcase it, and no directory from which to contact those doing that work. Our aim is to pick up this fractured discussion and work as an industry, more quickly, towards a solution.
Construction Harvest will only work if it continues as an industry collaboration. Let’s get this started, together. While this website began as a ptma Architecture initiative, we would prefer to list a series of names here—including yours. Visit our website www.ptma.au to learn more about what we do.
Why it’s time for change
We have a huge opportunity to get more value out of materials and create a more eco-conscious industry by reducing landfill. We can do this through a circular economy approach where we recycle, remanufacture or re-use materials after they’ve served their original purpose.
25.2M
tonnes of waste generated in Australia each year is building and demolition materials.
